Nothing we do matters more than this.
How we protect the children we work with, in person, in print and online. And what to do if you are worried about a child.
If you are worried about a child
Tell someone. You don't need to be certain, and you don't need proof.
A child is in danger right now
Don't wait for us. Call for help directly.
About someone at Bhagya Nepal
A member of staff, a mentor, a volunteer, a partner, a visitor, or anything we do.
Our safeguarding lead is Pooja Pyakurel, our founder.
Or write to us: choose “Safeguarding concern”If your concern is about Pooja, or you would rather not come to us, call Child Helpline Nepal on 1098. It is independent of us and works with Nepal's National Child Rights Council.

Ask for a removalWhat we promise in public
Every photograph, story and post on this site follows these rules. If you ever see us break one, tell us.
- Consent, always.
- A child's face, name or story appears here only with the informed, documented consent of their guardian, for website and social media use. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and then it comes down.
- The child agrees too.
- A guardian's yes is not enough on its own: the child has to be happy to appear. Many of the children we work with never appear here at all, and that is their choice.
- Dignity over sympathy.
- We do not publish images or words designed to make a child seem pitiable.
- No child speaks through us.
- We never put words in a child's mouth. Stories appear in the child's own words, or not at all.
