Roshmi

Her voice has already reached a national stage. Her story is only beginning.

The written fate

Brought to the city to work.

Roshmi’s father was lost to a flood in her home village. Afterwards, relatives brought her to Kathmandu — not to study, but to work: in their household, and doing odd jobs at a hotel.

A child, doing an adult’s work.

People around her noticed, and spoke up for her. That is how she was taken out of that work, and how she came to Bhagya Nepal.

The turn

Recovery, and then a voice.

Recovery took time. It came the slow way, with school, routine, and adults who kept asking how she was.

Roshmi is supported through Ruta6, Bhagya Nepal’s partner in Spain.

Somewhere along the way, Roshmi started to sing. She is an excellent singer, and through her school she has been featured on a national television programme.

Heard — on a national stage.

Still writing

Blossoming.

She is blossoming, and there is so much in her still to come. Bhagya Nepal’s part now is the long one: to keep showing up while Roshmi finds out how far her voice can carry.

Still being written. Out loud.

Help a child write their own story

Every story here is still being written.

You’re not rescuing a child. You’re giving her what she needs to do it herself: school, guidance and time. And you are helping us stay for the years after.
